Recently, the results of the 7th Self-improvement Stars of Wuhan University College Students were published. Weihang Wang, a 2019-grade undergraduate majoring in E-commerce of our School, and Ziqi Zhou, a 2019-grade undergraduate majoring in Editing and Publishing (Digital Publishing-oriented), were in the list. There were only 10 students in Wuhan University won this honor.

At the defense meeting, Weihang Wang and Ziqi Zhou told the stories of study, work and growth. They devoted themselves to social practice, worked at the grassroots level, served the society, and released the passion of youth in voluntary activities; Enthusiastic about student work, they served for students in class, in campus, and on the stage of Golden Autumn Art Festival, they painted the colors of youth with dedication. The two students used their actions to encourage their peers to study hard, work hard, strive for progress, forge ahead and be brave in taking responsibility, setting an example of standing on their own feet and strive for success. We see the power of persistence and dauntless spirit, and see the mission of the youth of the times from them.

Weihang Wang, member of the Presidium of Wuhan University Student Union currently. He was member of the 19th Committee of Wuhan University of the Communist Youth League of China, and member of the Presidium of the 21st Student Union of the School of Information Management. He strengthened the political leading role of student organizations, organized student backbones from 35 schools to carry out theoretical discussions and themed study, so as to give full play to the advantages of being close to students and guide students to integrate into the community. He won the first place in his major’s comprehensive performance, and won many honors and awards, such as the National Encouragement Scholarship, the First-class Scholarship for Wuhan University Excellent Students, Wuhan University Liu Daoyu Creative Learning Award, Wuhan University Three-good Students, Wuhan University Excellent Student Cadres, Stars of the School of Information Management, etc.

Ziqi Zhou, Communist Youth League Branch Secretary of the 6th Training Class of Young Marxists Training Project of Wuhan University, Deputy Director of the Direction Center for Grass-roots Communist Youth League Building of Wuhan University Communist Youth League Committee, member of the Youth Lecturers Group of Wuhan University. She used to be deputy secretary of CYLC SIM Students Committee and secretary of the Special Committee of Hubei Provincial Students Federation. In terms of academic performance, she has been enrolled in the postgraduate study of the Department of Publishing Science, and won the National Scholarship, Yu Gang & Song Xiao Scholarship, won the first-class scholarship for three consecutive years, and won the title of Wuhan University Three-good Students Model. She continued to carry out student work and serve for students. She was awarded Wuhan University Excellent Communist Youth League Cadres twice and been assessed as excellent by Hubei Provincial Students Federation; She took part in social practice activities for seven times during vacations, and won awards such as Hubei Province Excellent Social Practice Team to Rural Areas, and the special prize in Wuhan University Summer Social Practice; She is enthusiastic about public welfare and participated in volunteer services such as Chunhui teaching, epidemic prevention and control, and stand-attendant in Wanlin Museum, with a total volunteer time of 343 hours; She uses her own experience and thoughts to lead the youth around her.
