In order to deepen professional cognition, promote students' employment, strengthen ideological education, and condense force to forge ahead, from June 1 to 2, the School organized 58 2020-grade undergraduates majoring in information management and information system to Changsha City, Hunan Province to carry out professional cognitive practice.

Yiming Zhao, Deputy Director of the Department of Information Management Science, Jun Chen and Fan Zhang, class tutors, and Xiaoyu Chen, 2020-grade counselor, participated in the event.

On the afternoon of June 1, students and teachers visited Hunan Institute of Scientific and Technical Information. Weisi Li, Researcher and Deputy Director of Hunan Institute of Scientific and Technical Information, introduced the Institute's "One Library, One Cloud" and the construction of high-end think tank. The heads of the S&T Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation Center, Industrial Competitive Intelligence Center, S&T Data Intelligence Center, and S&T Strategic Research Center introduced the development and achievements of the statistical yearbook compilation, innovation activity evaluation, industrial intelligence analysis and the construction of S&T think tank respectively. There was also an interactive exchange. Industry seniors encouraged students to enhance their self-confidence in subject, learn professional skills, and aspire to join the cause of strengthening the country through science and technology and information.

On the morning of June 2, students and teachers visited the Yuelu Mountain University S&T City, and learned about the Huxiang spirit of "worrying about the world and being the first" in the exhibition hall, and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements carried out by Central South University, Hunan University and other universities in the fields of intelligent manufacturing and biomedicine. Students and teachers learned about the surrounding industrial distribution at Zhongjian Wisdom Valley and experienced the machine vision and intelligent robot products developed and produced by Bili Star Science and Technology Company.

In 58 Town, students learned about the operation mode and innovative ideas of the new economic industrial park. According to the on-site narrator, 58 Town is "the world innovation field in the park, the youth struggle field under the guidance of CPC, and the industrial empowerment field supported by science and technology", which has incubated famous brands such as Modern China Tea Shop, Jiushi Barbecue and Shining Taste. The students listened carefully to the explanation and stopped to watch the exhibition.

Finally, the students and teachers went to Orange Island to feel the ambition and broad mind of a generation of great men. The high temperature in summer can't stop the students' progress. Everyone has received vivid patriotic education, learned the revolutionary spirit of great leaders, strengthened their motivation to study hard and increase their capabilities, and strengthened their belief in fighting and serving the motherland.

During this activity, the 2020-grade undergraduates majoring in information management and information system deepened their understanding of the subject and industry of information management through visits and exchanges, and also felt the new mode of innovation and entrepreneurship intuitively, understood the important position of innovation and entrepreneurship in the national development strategy deeply, and had more in-depth thinking on future professional study, career planning and social responsibility. The trip to Changsha is not only a professional cognitive course, but also a walking ideological and political course.
