On June 10, the final of the CITI Financial Innovation Application Competition was held in Shanghai. After fierce competition, the team, Eye of Public Sentiment in Luojia Hill, of our School, won the national second prize with the sixth overall score. The instructor of the team is Professor Liang Hong, and the backbone members include Qingying Xu, a 2021-grade master student majoring in Secrecy Management of our School, and Xiaohui Ju, a 2022-grade master student majoring in Secrecy Management of our School. Meanwhile, Wuhan University won the award of the Best Cooperative College and University at the CITI Financial Innovation Application Competition.

At the board meeting of the CITI Financial Innovation Application Competition, Liang Hong introduced the experience of promoting the cultivation of innovative talents through the integration of industry and education, and he took the example of the data intelligence empowers training system in our School, combining with the achievements of Wuhan University in previous CITI Financial Innovation Application Competitions.

The project Eye of Public Sentiment in Luojia Hill uses the knowledge map integrating with related cross-disciplinary financial data, considering the multi-semantic correlation of public sentiment affairs, and the infection and attenuation of risk chronologically, and establishes an enterprise risk portfolio system based on financial public sentiment to provide technical solutions for credit risk control of commercial banks. The project team introduced the participating project from the aspects of market demand, key technologies, application verification, business plan and social value, and answered the questions raised by the judges successfully, which won the praise of the professional judges on the spot.

The 18th CITI Financial Innovation Application Competition was sponsored by Citibank, directed by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, and undertaken by Shanghai Technology Entrepreneurship Foundation for Graduates.

With the support of the government, education institutions and industry, CITI Financial Innovation Application Competition has become a benchmark competition in the field of financial informatization in China. Participating teams are free to choose Optional Track and CITI Challenge Track. A total of 167 teams from 222 universities and colleges from home and abroad participated in the 2023 CITI Financial Innovation Application Competition.
