On March 17, the signing ceremony of talent training cooperation between Baidu Company and Wuhan University was held successfully, and the Wuhan University-Baidu Premium Pinecone Talent Training Class was announced to start.

People attended the signing ceremony were as followings:

Qian Dai presided over the signing ceremony.

Baidu Company has long offered strong support to the scientific research and talent training work of our School. This time, the 5 million AI talent training plan was going to be implemented in our School, and we should give full play to the advantages of the disciplines and platform of the School of Information Management, and cooperating with Baidu Company to make the AI talent training a good job.

Wei Lu delivered a speech, expressing his heartfelt thanks to Baidu for its support to the talent training of the School.

Xuanya Li introduced Baidu's development in AI field. He said that AI technology has developed rapidly in recent years, and Baidu has been exploring cooperation with universities in AI education actively. He hoped to discuss the trend of AI technology with universities, and also hoped to transport Baidu's platform, tools and other superior resources to universities to cultivate AI talents needed by society. Baidu expects to produce nationwide, benchmark and leading talent training achievement via in-depth cooperation with the School of Information Management and Wuhan University.

Lihong Zhou and Xiangting Ji signed a cooperation agreement on talent training on behalf of Wuhan University and Baidu Company respectively. Xiangting Ji had a sharing on the theme AI for Everyone － 5 Million AI Talent Training Plan of Baidu. Jiaqi Yang, a 2020-grade undergraduate student majoring in Information Management and Information System, spoke as student representative. Experts and teachers held in-depth discussion on curriculum co-construction, talent training and scientific research.

As an important part of this cooperation, Xuanya Li, Director of Universities Cooperation Department in Baidu Company, was appointed as non-resident research fellow at the School of Information Management, Wuhan University, and he would participate in the talent training and curriculum cooperation of the School more deeply in the future.

After the signing ceremony, the enrollment introduction of Wuhan University-Baidu Premium Pinecone Talent Training Class was held at the School. The Wuhan University-Baidu Premium Pinecone Talent Training Class is a new paradigm of AI talent training, innovation and entrepreneurship education.

Through the cooperation opportunity of signing the cooperation agreement for AI talent training, Baidu Pinecone Academy will customize the exclusive AI talent training plan for the SIM students, offer AI industry courses, workplace competency courses, etc., and the AI online programming competition will also open to students. In addition, the two sides will also carry out more in-depth cooperation in teaching staff training, curriculum construction, internship and practical training.
