On the afternoon of March 19, Shanlin Yang, Professor, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Director of Academic Committee in Hefei University of Technology, was invited to attend the Symposium on Discipline Construction and Talent Education at our School.

Wei Lu introduced the basic information of the School and the difficulties in the future development of the discipline. As the management discipline leader in Hefei University of Technology, Shanlin Yang believes that management is guided by thought and mission, and it is the integration of science and art. Discipline construction should not only take on the present, but also orient to the future; It is necessary to make a comparison not only within the university, but also with the same discipline of domestic and international. Discipline construction should adhere to the "four orientations", focus on the major strategic needs of the country and society, and keep up with the development of the times. Combined with the development course and present situation of management discipline, Shanlin Yang pointed out that interdisciplinary integration is not an end, but a means, an inevitable requirement of development and a rich connotation of itself. It is necessary to integrate this discipline into the common development of the main disciplines of the university actively, do a good job in disciplines combination, explore the "value depression" in the research field, play a supporting role, show the existing value and enrich the connotation of the discipline.
