On March 20, the First Yangtze River Forum on Data Intelligence and the Opening Ceremony of Wuhan Data Intelligence Research Institute was held in Wuhan.

The Wuhan Data Intelligence Research Institute is organized by Wuchang District People's Government of Wuhan City, composed and led by Wuhan University, funded by Wuhan Municipal People’s Government. It is an important measure for the three parties to jointly implement the national artificial intelligence development strategy and accelerate the innovation and industrial development in the field of data intelligence. At the meeting, Wuhan Data Intelligence Research Institute, MindSpore, Wuhan University and Wuhan Artificial Intelligence Computing Center signed a four-party strategic cooperation agreement, and reached a consensus on the sustainable development of the integration of industry and research of data intelligence in the future, especially on the strategic needs of using big models, big data and big computing power to serve the national science and technology.

Wuhan Data Intelligence Research Institute will continue to exert its efforts in the fields of data intelligence basic theory research and core key technology research, construction of data intelligence R&D platform and service platform, engineering scene application of data intelligence, and incubation of developing data intelligent companies. With the goal of building a key research base for data intelligence theory and technology, a high-end think tank for digital intelligence empowerment development, a training center for data intelligence talents, a demonstration center for data intelligence application scenarios, and an incubation center for data intelligence companies, the Research Institute will build a high-level data intelligence research platform to help Wuchang District achieve breakthrough development in leading demonstrations, help Wuhan city build a national first-tier digital economy city, comprehensively boost the construction of digital Hubei, and empower the transformation and upgrading of local industries and high-quality economic development.

Jin Han, Chairman of the Wuhan Data Intelligence Research Institute, said in his speech that Wuhan University has actively responded to the urgent need of China's economic and social development in recent years and has continued to exert its strength in the fields of big data and artificial intelligence. The establishment of Wuhan Data Intelligence Research Institute is an important fulcrum for university and local government to work together to build a highland of talents and innovation, and a key move to turn Wuhan's scientific and educational advantages into a high-quality development victory.
