On April 15, Experts Forum of the third Information Visualization Workshop was successfully held. It was jointly sponsored by the Big Data Institute of Wuhan University, Wuhan University Library, the Youth Working Committee of the Chinese Association of Science of Science and S&T Policy Research, Scientometrics and Informetrics Committee of the Chinese Association of Science of Science and S&T Policy Research, and our School, and jointly organized by the Department of Library Science of our School, Science and Education Management and Evaluation Center of Wuhan University, Dysprosium Metadata News Research Center of Wuhan University and Wuhan Dysprosium Metadata Technology Co., Ltd.

The theme of this Workshop was Data-driven Information Visualization Principle and Creative Presentation. Xiaoguang Wang, Professor and Associate Dean of our School, attended and delivered an address. He emphasized that information visualization could provide people with the laws and knowledge behind information, and provide a foundation for scientific management of information resources, and pointed out the vision of launching the Information Visualization Workshop by the School of Information Management, which was to build it into an influential public exchange platform for academic peers and students to learn together and learn from each other. Ying Huang, Associate Professor at our School, host of the opening ceremony, introduced the speakers and main ideas of this Workshop.

Qiong Wang, Associate Professor at the School of Journalism and Communication, Wuhan University, introduced the concept and development of visualization, the understanding of data visualization, the principles of data visualization, the data in visualization and the principles of visualization design in detail, systematically explained the development of data visualization, and provided a macro perspective for the teachers and students to understand the development of visualization science. Combined with the development of the subject of data visualization communication, she opened a gorgeous picture full of creativity for the teachers and students to understand the cross-integration of visualization and humanities and social sciences, so that the teachers and students could fully feel the charm of visualization.
