On April 12, Wei Wang, Vice President of BGI Genomics, San A, Director of Clinical Research of BGI Genomics, and Junliang Li, Deputy Director of Chronic Disease Department of BGI Genomics, visited our School and discussed on the transformation of scientific research achievements in chronic disease.

Fu Wang, Dean of Guangdong Research Institute of Wuhan University, Ping Wang, Associate Dean of our School, and Hao Fan, Professor at the Department of Big Data Security and Secrecy of our School, attended the meeting.

Quan Lu, Director of the Department of Information Management Science of our School, presided over the meeting.

In his speech, Fu Wang said that under the background of the 323 Attack in Hubei Province, accelerating the landing and transformation of scientific research results is an important measure for the country's major needs and people's lives and health. He hoped that the two sides would continue to strengthen basic research and application innovation, establish cooperation mechanisms, strengthen organized scientific research, and promote the transformation of scientific research results into people's healthy productive forces.

Ping Wang extended a warm welcome to BGI Genomics’ visit to the School, and introduced the achievements made by the School in strengthening the ability of digital intelligence empowerment and promoting the transformation of scientific research achievements in recent years. He said that the two sides should adhere to the pragmatic spirit, look for means of cooperation, establish reasonable expectations, and push forward the completion of the project steadily.

Wei Wang put forward the hope of landing the scientific research industry of chronic diseases, and introduced the development of BGI Group and BGI Genomics and the existing business scope of BGI Group. She expressed the hope that with the help of the School of Information Management's advantages in big data analysis, we could jointly promote the transformation of scientific research achievements in chronic disease and make contributions to the benefit of people's lives and health.

Quan Lu made a report entitled A Study on Health Big Data and Suggestions for Prevention of Chronic Diseases in Hubei Province.

Dr. Fang Yang of BGI Genomics introduced the screening direction of chronic diseases of BGI Genomics.

San A introduced the scientific research and development of national health and the research on the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases with intelligent queuing data during pregnancy.

In the free exchange session, the two sides also discussed the current industrialization business of BGI Genomics, the types of chronic diseases in industrialization research, the technical aspect of data technology embedding and the long-term cooperation direction between the two sides.
