On May 13, the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Health Informatics Committee of China Society for Scientific and Technical Information was held in Wuhan University.

People attended the meeting were as followings:

Qinghua Zhu, Director of the Health Informatics Committee of China Society for Scientific and Technical Information,

Zhanchun Feng, Dean of the School of Medicine and Health Management, Tongji Medical College Huazhong University of Science and Technology,

Meiyun Zuo, Associate Dean of the School of Information, Renmin University of China,

Chunxiao Xing, Associate Dean of the Research Institute of Information Technology, Tsinghua University,

Haiyuan Qian, Chairman of Wuhan Yuanqi Technology Co., Ltd.,

Jun Tao, Associate Dean of the Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences, Wuhan University, and

Wei Lu, Dean of our School.

Jun Tao, Qinghua Zhu, Feicheng Ma and Wei Lu addressed at the meeting successively. Jun Tao reviewed the China’s exploration in promoting scientific research and industrial development related to Health Informatics, and emphasized the importance of Health Informatics. Qinghua Zhu interpreted the theme of this Annual Meeting, which was Digital Intelligence Empowering Human’s Health Management, and pointed out that Health Informatics has a distinctive feature of deep interdisciplinary integration, and the Annual Meeting would provide a good opportunity for exchanges between disciplines. Taking the great role of information technology and artificial intelligence in epidemic prevention and control as an example, Feicheng Ma summarized the development and practical significance of Health Informatics. Combined with the related research work and achievements of our School, Wei Lu elaborated on the strategic position of digital intelligence empowerment and Health Informatics.

Three people presided over the main forum of the Annual Meeting. They were as followings:

Jiang Wu, Deputy Director of the Health Informatics Committee of China Society for Scientific and Technical Information, Associate Dean of our School,

Xiaoying Zhou, Professor at the School of Information Resource Management, Renmin University of China, and

Jun Ying, Deputy Director of Fudan University Library.

Zhanchun Feng expounded the great potential of information technology in the reform of medical care service with the topic of The Role of Information Technology in the Transformation of Health Service.

Meiyun Zuo made a report on Research on the Adoption and Use of the Platform for the Integration of Medical Treatment and Rehabilitation Based on Bilateral Perspectives, and introduced in detail the related meanings and modes of the integration of smart medical treatment and rehabilitation.

Chunxiao Xing talked about the new generation of information technology empowering the medical metaverse, and combed how information technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, big data and Internet of Things could empower the development of the health information metaverse.

Haiyuan Qian introduced Wuhan Yuanqi Technology Co., Ltd., and the cutting-edge practical work in the field of smart medical care and the prospect of smart health service with the theme of Optimizing and Improving Patients’ Experience by Using AI Technology.

Quan Lu, Director of the Department of Information Management Science of our School, gave a report entitled Research on Optimization of Screening Methods of Alzheimer's Disease Scale Based on Digital Intelligence Empowerment, and introduced how to use machine learning technology to reduce the cost and improve the accuracy of screening for Alzheimer's disease.

On the afternoon of the same day, three sub-forums were held with the themes of Users Information Behavior of Online Health Community, Theoretical Exploration and Practice Trend of Health Informatics and Practical Research on Users Health Information via AI-empowered. 14 experts and scholars from Peking University, Nanjing University, Renmin University of China and other universities gave wonderful reports, which promoted the continuous deepening of academic sharing and discussion.

The 2023 Annual Meeting of the Health Informatics Committee of China Society for Scientific and Technical Information was undertaken by Wuhan Data Intelligence Research Institute, Center for Studies of Information Resources, Wuhan University, Center for E-commerce Research and Development, Wuhan University, and sponsored and supported by Wuhan Yuanqi Technology Co., Ltd., Documentation, Information & Knowledge (in Chinese), Journal of Information Resources Management (in Chinese), and Data and Information Management.

The purpose of the Annual Meeting was to discuss the opportunities and challenges of research in the field of informatics in health science, build a high-level academic exchange platform for researchers in the field of health informatics, and promote academic research, exchange and cooperation in related fields.
