On June 6, Group Standard Review Meeting of the China Audio-video and Digital Publishing Association and 2023 Annual Work Meeting of the Key Laboratory of Semantic Publishing and Knowledge Service was held in a combination of reality and virtual meeting.

Xiaoguang Wang addressed at the meeting, welcoming the experts to give suggestions, wishing the digital publishing industry in China prosperity and development, and wishing the meeting a complete success.

Hong Li presided over the opening ceremony and the Group Standard Review Meeting.

At the meeting, members of the Group Standard Drafting Team introduced the first drafts of six group standards, including Digital Indexing Label Set of Sci-tech Books and A Guide for Digital Publishing of Ancient Books (Calligraphy and Painting) Application. Experts exchanged and discussed the scope of standards, compilation specifications and business scenarios, and put forward optimization suggestions, pointing out that the Drafting Team could add forward-looking content on the basis of the current standards. The panel of experts examined the six group standard drafts, read out the review opinions and agreed to pass the review.

Jie Xu expressed her gratitude to the experts for their opinions and suggestions, and said that they should strengthen the linkage with relevant organizations in the next step, improve the standards compilation work further, and continue to promote the application of achievements.

Experts also had a heated discussion on the future work of the Key Laboratory of Semantic Publishing and Knowledge Service. Xingrong Fu, CPC Secretary of our School, issued the nameplate to the cooperative organizations on behalf of the Key Laboratory of Semantic Publishing and Knowledge Service. He pointed out that the Key Laboratory of Semantic Publishing and Knowledge Service has made outstanding achievements in semantic publishing, knowledge service, digitization of ancient books, and promotion of Industry-University-Research's collaboration. The Key Laboratory of Semantic Publishing and Knowledge Service would be to strengthen cooperation with relevant organizations and further consolidate scientific research strength in the next step.

Related project heads in the Key Laboratory of Semantic Publishing and Knowledge Service reported the preliminary work in turn.

Ziyang Weng, Associate Professor at our School, reported the progress of the ancient agricultural books project on the topic of Integrated Knowledge Service of Ancient Agricultural Books and Agronomy. He introduced the exploration of agricultural book knowledge evolution and narrative realization in visualization on map from the dimensions of typical events, typical characters and typical scenes, and showed the visualization platform of Chinese ancient agricultural books and Agronomy knowledge service.

Lei Xu, Associate Professor at our School, reported on the progress of ancient books knowledge library. He expounded the overall framework of the research, and introduced the current research on the content arrangement and research of characteristic ancient books digital resources, the construction of digital resources platform of ancient books in specific areas/collections, and the ancient books knowledge library formed by content analysis and mining based on ancient books.

Xiaoqun Yuan, Associate Professor at our School, shared the research progress of publishing knowledge service. He reported the preliminary work from three aspects: following closely the national strategy of intelligent upgrading of publishing industry, developing intelligent production of publishing content around publishing knowledge service, intelligent management of service platform and intelligent upgrading of digital intelligence empowers publishing knowledge service, and put forward plans to carry out in-depth research in digital publishing theory, intelligent publishing knowledge service and transformation of scientific research results.

Ran Ao affirmed the preliminary work of the Key Laboratory of Semantic Publishing and Knowledge Service. He pointed out that the academic value and quality of the preliminary work results are very high, which has both practical application value and forward-looking guiding significance. He believed that in the context of the rapid development of artificial intelligence, the path of survival and development of the publishing industry will also be affected, and the Key Laboratory of Semantic Publishing and Knowledge Service should focus more on the future and strengthen macro guidance to the industry.

Wei Xie believed that the Key Laboratory of Semantic Publishing and Knowledge Service has achieved rich research results in the early stage, but the publicity needs to be strengthened, and the communication with superior departments and peers needs to be deepened. In the future, the Key Laboratory could consider strengthening the alliance and cooperation in the vertical field.

Junbo Xie suggested that the Key Laboratory should promote the cooperation and transformation of Industry-University-Research and promote the two-way support of personnel training.

Qiang Yu believed that the Key Laboratory should develop in depth in the vertical field and promote the high-quality development of the publishing industry.

Fanyun Wang, Director of the Integrated Development Department of Central South University Press, pointed out that there was no national normative document on technical services at present, and the Key Laboratory could consider making efforts to fill this gap.

Yuanhong Huang, Director of the Information Center of Social Sciences Academic Press (China), believed that laboratory is a bridge between technology and academics, which can explore new markets through knowledge service and develop in a systematic and platform direction.

Siran Feng, Deputy Director of Secretariat Department, China Audio-video and Digital Publishing Association, said that the China Audio-video and Digital Publishing Association has built a column for laboratory news, and everyone is welcome to contribute and do a good job in publicity.
