On the afternoon of June 13, our School held a SIM Leaders Open Day for graduates of 2023. The event was also the SIM Leaders open day in the second semester of this academic year.

Xingrong Fu, CPC Secretary of our School, Wei Lu, Dean of our School, and other leaders of the School, heads of departments and offices, all counselors, and representatives of the undergraduate and graduate students of 2023 gathered together to have face-to-face communication and in-depth discussions on the construction and development of the School, education and teaching, and management services. Zhuozhu Liu, a doctoral graduate of Information Science in 2023, presided over the event.

At the meeting, the representatives spoke in turn. Full of sentimental attachment and gratitude to the School, they recalled their growing feelings during their study and life in campus, expressing their gratitude for the fostering of the School, and talking about their opinions and suggestions for the future development of the School.

In terms of personnel training, graduates' representatives put forward that the dual tutorial system should be improved, the positioning of each major should be clarified, the curriculum design and planning should be improved, the theoretical curriculum system of “popularization+frontier science” should be built, and the in-depth training of practical skills should be emphasized.

In terms of School management, some representatives suggested to improve the time planning of internship and dissertation defense further, and smooth the information transmission of teaching and research affairs.

In terms of employment and entrepreneurship, some representatives hoped that the School could integrate internal and external resources further, strengthen university-enterprise integration and channel sharing, carry out interdisciplinary exchange meeting to strengthen the peers mentoring mechanism of the same major, increase professional cognitive practice activities, and improve professional employment matching.

In addition, some representatives also suggested that the publicity and employment introduction to professional master should be strengthened, related clauses and detailed rules for selection and awarding should be improved, laboratory equipment and scientific research environment support should be improved further, and the frequency of relevant group activities should be increased.

The heads of departments and teachers of the School listened carefully to the speeches of the students and made targeted answers. They said that they would absorb the opinions and suggestions of students, improve the education mechanism further, update and improve the conditions and facilities of the School, and offer better services and guarantees for the growth and development of students.

Xingrong Fu expressed heartfelt congratulations to the graduates of 2023 for their successful completion of study and thanked them for their important contributions to the development of the School. He affirmed that the feedback from graduates was thoughtful and quality, and affirmed the suggestions they offered. He emphasized that investigation and research is a great tradition of our Party, only by interacting with each other up and down, forming a closed loop of "raise a question-solve the problem-feedback the result", thinking about students' thoughts, being anxious for students' needs and helping students, can it be truly welcomed by students and promote the high-quality development of School construction in solving practical problems. He asked all relevant heads to attach great importance to the opinions and suggestions of students, and contribute to the construction of the first-class student education program in the School. Finally, he sent a message to the graduates, hoping that they would not forget their original intention to forge ahead bravely in the future and go to the next stage of life with enthusiasm and passion.
