Recently, it was learned from EI database that Data and Information Management (DIM), an English academic journal managed by our School, has been included in the Compendex database of EI, which is another advancement after DIM has been included in Scopus, Proquest, EBSCO and other databases.

Data and Information Management was founded in September 2017, sponsored by Wuhan University, jointly undertaken by the Center for Studies of Information Resources, Wuhan University, and our School, and published by Elsevier Publishing House. Feicheng Ma, Senior Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences at Wuhan University, and Gary Marchionini, Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, are Editors-in-Chief. Data and Information Management is based on the field of information science and driven by data. It aims to break the field and industry restrictions, promote the innovation and development of technologies, processes, tools and solutions, and solve various issues and challenges brought by big data to the information society through interdisciplinary research in the fields of information science, computer science and management science. Data and Information Management analyzes and studies scientific data, commercial data and government data from the perspective of management, focusing on theoretical and technological innovations related to data information processing, as well as various database models and their new applications.

EI Compendex is the most comprehensive secondary literature database in engineering field in the world, which mainly provides abstract index information in applied science and engineering field. The EI Compendex includes references and abstracts of more than 7 million articles from 5,100 engineering journals, conference proceedings and technical reports since 1969. It covers all subjects in the fields of engineering and applied science. While selecting journals to be included in the database, the main reference indicators include academic level of journals, timeliness of publication and many other aspects.
