Jie Xu, Professor and Director of the Department of Publishing Science of our School, was appointed as 2023 Open Science Ambassador by Wiley for her outstanding contribution to the theoretical research and practical work of open science and open access publishing.

Jie Xu is committed to the research on open science, open access and open data, and has published more than 20 articles in Chinese and English core journals such as Learned Publishing, Journal of Scholarly Publishing, Chinese Journal of Scientific and Technical Periodicals (in Chinese), Researches in Library Science (in Chinese), Publishing Journal (in Chinese). She presided over Research on industry consolidation of Sci-tech Journals Facing Open Science, a project of the National Social Science Fund of China, and participated in Research on Academic Quality Evaluation and Control of Open Access Digital Journals, a general project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

As member of several international open science organizations, such as OSI, Jie Xu made reports at Academic Publishing in Europe and other conferences, promoting the development of open science and academic exchanges at home and abroad. She said that she would continue to make greater contributions in international scientific exchange platform in the future, and convey the voice of the School of Information Management at Wuhan University to the world.

Wiley launched the Open Science Ambassador Program in 2019. It is to commend opinion leaders who have made contributions to open research and open science. Wiley will push scientific research to a more open future with open science ambassadors via a variety of conferences, training, sharing and exchange events.
